Cruise in Company 2023

The long talked about Mendez Marine Cruise in Company is now being organised.

Many of our students over the past few years have expressed an interest in joining us on a Cruise to Guernsey.

From experience we know how daunting the prospect of planning and executing such a trip can be.

The aim of the Cruise In Company is to give boat owners the experience of a cross channel passage whilst enjoying the security and safety of completing the passage under the guidance of experienced skippers.

We have booked to go from Wednesday 31st May – Sunday 4th June 2023.

These dates fit well with the tides to get in and out of Guernsey, St Peter Port, at reasonable times – we just can’t guarantee the weather.

Slower boats, with a cruising speed of less than 20kts, will be in one group with a Mendez Marine skipper placed on one of those boats and faster Boats will be led by the good ship Fenland Dancer.  There will be a couple of additional RYA Yachtmaster skippers in the group who can be dispersed amongst the ‘fleet’.

We anticipate a maximum of 12 boats in the Fleet.

There will be a passage planning meeting late April / early May to brief the skippers and to give help and advice to plot onto Navigation systems.

Planning meeting at Deacons Marina 10:30 – 12:30

31 May 2023

Boats to rendezvous at Yarmouth Marina by 1700

Meet and greet drinks and meal at local restaurant in Yarmouth 1930

Briefing

01 June 2023

Depart Yarmouth to arrive at St Peter Port,  Guernsey mid to late afternoon

02 June 2023

Pontoon drinks in the afternoon – times TBC

04 June 2023

Depart St Peter Port by 0830

Cost £600

Boats are responsible for their own fuel, berthing fees and meals.  Mendez will organize berthing and a drinks on the pontoon and if any interest a meal in Yarmouth
